| Our visual environment
is easily abstracted; it can be either simplified or fragmented from
any given reference point. By applying patterned color to lead the eye
and create spatial interplays, I explore both approaches — simplifiication
and fragmentation — in my drawings, paintings and hand-pulled prints. The figurative pieces are gestures set into solid compositions, an evocative marriage of elements that reveals stylistically and through content how we are all more same than different. |
